There appears to be a breakthrough by the security agencies in pursuit of people who are suspected to have shot and killed Ahmed Hussein Suale, a private investigator, who was working for Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye PI. It’s emerging that a suspected killer of Ahmed Suale is currently in the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) on behalf of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service. Although the security operatives are largely tight-lipped over the case and would not want to give details beyond a confirmation of the arrest, Daily Guide can confirm that two arrests were made last week. Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo has advised young girls to desist from offering their bodies to old men in exchange for iPhones. MUSIGA collaborates with FDA to fight drug abuse

The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) is collaborating with the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) to combat the scourge of drug abuse that is plaguing the nation. As part of the collaboration, MUSIGA has produced a song and is finalizing a video on the harmful effects of drug abuse. The song features some of the top singers of the day including Kuami Eugene and a host of singers. Apart from the song and video, a mega concert is also being planned to drive the fight against drug abuse. According to MUSIGA President Bice Osei Kuffour aka Obour, “The campaign will be launched with a mega concert which will feature some of the artistes on the All Star song and video along with others who support the project but couldn’t feature on the song.”  The campaign is to fight against the rising scourge of drug abuse with the recent increase in Tramadol abuse which has plaguing against the youth in the country. Mali attack: More than 130 Fulani villagers killed

More than 130 people were killed in an attack on a village in central Mali on Saturday by armed men wearing traditional Dogon hunters' clothing. Gunmen surrounded the village at dawn before attacking people in their homes in Ogossagou in the Mopti region. The attackers targeted members of the Fulani ethnic community who are accused of having ties to jihadists. The attack took place while UN ambassadors were in Mali to discuss increased violence. The Security Council mission met Prime Minister Soumeylou Boubeye Maiga to talk about the increased threat from jihadist fighters in central Mali. The victims of Saturday's deadly attack were "killed with guns and machetes", a local security official told AFP news agency. Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame is worried about a recent statement made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey that Ghana is considering choosing obtaining French as second language. £29.2m worth of cannabis heading to UK intercepted at Tema port

The Narcotics Control Board (NACOB) has intercepted 5,851 compressed slabs of cannabis in an operation at the Tema port. The seizure, one of the biggest narcotics busts in the history of the country, has an estimated street value of £29.2 million. The drugs were concealed in boxes yam set for export to the United Kingdom. Checks by NACOB revealed that the cannabis was compressed in yellow cellophane underneath all the boxes. Two suspects have so far been arrested in connection with the bust, while a third one is on the run. The suspects, Dominic Kojo Amenyo and Osae Akotua are both freight forwarders at the Tema port and were handling the yams. A third suspect, one Bright, also a freight forwarder, is said to be on the run, according to a report in the Daily Graphic. According to Mail Online Sport, a woman identified as Adileusa do Rosario Neves, 39, is fighting to have the former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker recognized as the father of her 19-year-old daughter, Erika. Adileusa's lawyer Fernando Osuna confirmed on Tuesday that the hearing would take place at a Madrid court on April 24. The lawsuit presented by Cape Verde-born Adileusa says she fell pregnant after meeting Eto'o in a nightclub in the Spanish capital in 1997 when he was at Leganes on loan from Real Madrid. Parts of Accra shaken by another tremor, residents left terrified

                                 Aerial view of part of Accra An earth tremor with unknown magnitude shook most parts of Accra late Saturday night leaving residents in the affected areas terrified. Unlike the recent tremors which were restricted the western part of Accra known to be the earth-quake prone area of the capital city, Saturday’s is said to be the largest in recent years as it stretched beyond those areas. Within seconds, the earth tremor which was recorded at exactly 11:29pm Saturday rippled through the Weija and McCarthy areas, Ablekuma Kasoa, Madina, Christian Village, Oyarifa, North Kaneshie, Sowutuom, Abelemkpe, and Legon among other surrounding areas. Ghanaian Rapper Edem born Denning Edem Hotor has reinforced his request for a stadium to be built in the Volta Region as done in the Northern, Central, Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
