Image
Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome will have some property of his sold to pay debt owed the state. Report: FIFA to consider disciplinary actions for Cameroon after Women’s World Cup outburst

Image
Per a report in the BBC, FIFA has begun investigating Cameroon for “team misconduct, offensive behavior and fair play breaches.” Specifically, Cameroon’s players appeared to lose their emotions surrounding two incidents that involved video assistant referees, or the VAR. In the first case, just before halftime, England’s Ellen White was initially ruled offside on a goal she scored, only for VAR to overturn the assistant referee and rule White’s goal could stand, because she was onside by about two feet. After that instance, Cameroon’s players appeared to make an on-field protest, and it wasn’t clear if the game would restart. In the second half, Cameroon had a goal that was somewhat harshly disallowed after Ajara Nchout had scored to make it 2-1 for England and cut the deficit in half. Gabrielle Onguene, who played the pass into Nchout, was ruled by the VAR to be offside but only by the absolute slightest of margins, her heel. Again, following this decision, players lost their...

Neymar vows never to play for Paris Saint-Germain again as Brazilian targets Barcelona return

Image
Neymar has told Paris Saint-Germain he has no intention of playing for the club again as the Brazilian looks to complete a return to former club Barcelona. The Ligue 1 giants broke the world transfer record for Neymar in 2017 when they triggered a £199.5million release clause in the forward’s contract. Neymar was attracted by the chance of becoming the face of the club in Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s absence but he quickly found a club that was pale into comparison to Barcelona. The Brazilian was far from impressed by the lack of competition in Ligue 1 and bemused by playing in front of crowds of less than 20,000 people. Neymar also clashed with Edinson Cavani over who should take the club’s penalties and the Brazilian’s been sidelined for Champions League knockout matches against Real Madrid and Manchester United. According to Sport, Neymar can’t help but compare the club with Barcelona and now regrets his decision to leave the Camp Nou. It’s claimed the Brazilian...

Atsu believes this tournament might be the last bow for a number of his teammates. “This is what the whole country wants. We have not won this trophy for 37 years despite all the good players this country has produced. “I think if we get all the support we need, we can win it this year. Because if we don’t win it, many people are going to retire,” the Newcastle United forward stated in an interview with Football Made in Ghana. Since 2008, the Black Stars have made the semi finals of the competition, the most number of consecutive appearance in the last four by any country. Sarri will replace fellow Italian Massimiliano Allegri, who left Juventus at the end of last season. Chelsea urged to forget Frank Lampard and appoint another manager by former captain

Image
Lampard is the overwhelming favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea. Sarri is set to leave the club after just one season in charge to take the vacant Juventus job. Lampard has had just one campaign as a manager, leading Derby County to the Championship play-off final where they lost to Aston Villa. But Wise does not think that should be enough to land the legendary Chelsea midfielder the Blues job. “I’m surprised, if I’m being honest,” Wise told talkSPORT. “He did a good job getting them into the play-offs. But getting to the play-off final and not going up isn’t good enough. “In the last five seasons, they’ve been in the play-offs three times. It’s something they’ve done before. “I think it would be good if he stays there. The expectation at Derby is to try and get them into the play-offs and get them up. “The expectation of Chelsea is to get into the Champions League and try to win trophies against the best teams. “That’s a big jump from Derby to Chelsea ...

Sudan news: What is happening in Sudan as violence flares?

Image

Doctors also believe paramilitary troops carried out more than 70 rapes during the attack. So what is happening in Sudan and what happened to affect the level of widespread violence? Massive protests began in Sudan on December 19, 2018, after the government decided to triple the price of goods. The country was already suffering an acute shortage of foreign currency and inflation had hit 70 percent. Cuts to bread and fuel subsidies sparked demonstrations in the east of the country and anger spread to the capital Khartoum. On top of this, Protesters demanded the removal of President al-Bashir and his government, who has led the country since 1989. But Mr Bashir refused and to step down, leading to the convergence of opposition groups to form a united coalition. The government retaliated...
