MTN announces addition of 059 network code

The country’s leading mobile network operator, MTN, has added a new network code (059) to its existing codes.

The new 059 block of numbers allotted by the industry regulator, National Communication Authority comes to add up to MTN Ghana’s existing number block with codes: (024), (054) and (055).

The introduction of the (059) number block will allow MTN Ghana to reach more customers with its fastest data services on the 4G+ and 4G networks and also enjoy a vast array of voice , digital and mobile financial services it is offering.

The general public is urged to take note of the introduction of the new number block (059) on the MTN Ghana Network.

A release issued by the company, said for customers to make calls or send SMS, customers are required to add the relevant prefix to the number being dialed e.g. 059 and the customer’s unique number (0591000000).

For international calls, customers will have to dial the country code, the relevant prefix and customer’s unique number e.g +233 59 1000000.

Wakaso joins Chinese club Jiangsu Suning

Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is on the verge of swapping the Spanish La Liga for the Chinese Super League (CSL) after agreeing personal terms with Jiangsu Suning. Wakaso, 29, was entering into the final year of his three-year deal with Deportivo Alaves, but he will now depart midway through the season after the two clubs reached an agreement. The deal is subject to the 29-year-old passing a medical. Deportivo Alavés in a statement expressed gratitude to Wakaso "for his professionalism and dedication during this time and wished him the best of luck". He will join compatriots Emmanuel Boateng and Frank Achiampong in the Chinese topflight.

FDA ban has pushed me out of media - Kwame Dzokoto

THE ban on celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages by Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has clearly affected a lot of celebrities and one aggrieved personality is comic actor Kwame Dzokoto who says it is the reason why he is no longer in the media. Ghana, United Kingdom pledge to strengthen ties of co-operation

Ghana and the United Kingdom have resolved to deepen the bilateral relations that exist between the two countries, as well as, explore areas of interest that will inure to the mutual benefit of the two countries and their respective populations. This was disclosed on Monday, January 20, 2020, when the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, held bilateral talks with British Prime Minister, Rt. Hon.
