Junior Agogo cremated in London

Former Black Stars forward, Manuel Junior Agogo, was cremated in London on Friday.

Agogo died in England on August 22 aged 40 after a period of illness and the news was received with sadness in Ghana and the world over.

A funeral was organised by the family and afterwards, a cremation was done in a private ceremony.

A delegation from the Ghana government led by the deputy Sports Minister, Perry Okudzeto, was at the funeral to mourn with the family.

In addition, some members of the GFA Normalisation Committee namely Naa Odofoley Nortey and Samuel Osei Kuffour, were there at the funeral.

Former Black Stars defender, Tony Baffoe, was also at the funeral.


Agogo played for the Black Stars between 2006 and 2009 and he scored 12 times in the 27 matches he played for the team.

He also played for clubs in England, Scotland, United States, Egypt and Cyprus.

FDA ban has pushed me out of media - Kwame Dzokoto

THE ban on celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages by Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has clearly affected a lot of celebrities and one aggrieved personality is comic actor Kwame Dzokoto who says it is the reason why he is no longer in the media. According to Kwame Dzokoto, who has advertised alcoholic beverages in the past and was the host of popular show, Edziban on TV3, the decision is biting hard but there is no one to speak for them. “I decided to leave the media since no one is speaking for us. Wakaso joins Chinese club Jiangsu Suning

Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is on the verge of swapping the Spanish La Liga for the Chinese Super League (CSL) after agreeing personal terms with Jiangsu Suning. Wakaso, 29, was entering into the final year of his three-year deal with Deportivo Alaves, but he will now depart midway through the season after the two clubs reached an agreement. The deal is subject to the 29-year-old passing a medical. Deportivo Alavés in a statement expressed gratitude to Wakaso "for his professionalism and dedication during this time and wished him the best of luck". Ghana, United Kingdom pledge to strengthen ties of co-operation

Ghana and the United Kingdom have resolved to deepen the bilateral relations that exist between the two countries, as well as, explore areas of interest that will inure to the mutual benefit of the two countries and their respective populations.
