AFCON 2021 Qualifiers: Ghana drawn with South Africa in Group C
The Black Stars of Ghana will slug it out with South Africa, Sudan and the winner of Mauritius/Sao Tome Principe in Group C of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers revealed by CAF on Thursday
Despite the 2019 edition still ongoing, the groups for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers have now been revealed, following Thursday's draw in Cairo.
Coach Kwasi Appiah’s side will be looking forward to booking their ticket to the next edition of the continental showpiece having failed to make any significant impact at the ongoing competition.
This year's tournament is yet to be concluded with the final set to take place on Friday, but CAF have already determined the qualifiers for the next edition.
The draw was made up of 12 groups consisting of four teams each. The top two sides from each group will qualify for the showpiece that will be held in Cameroun, who failed to host this year’s competition.
According to CAF, there will be four matches in the preliminary round which includes Liberia v Chad, South Sudan v Seychelles, Mauritius v Sao Tome and Djibouti v Gambia.
