Rainstorm all week – Ghana Meteo warns

GMA has cautioned the general public to be careful during the raining season

The Ghana Meteorological Agency has issued an alert to the effect that there is going to be a rainstorm accompanied by strong winds throughout the week.

A statement dated 13/05/2019 issued by David Mensah, Deputy Forecaster said: “A rainstorm observed today, 13th May 2019 over the eastern coast of the country is expected to propagate westward to affect the coastal sectors of the country with moderate to heavy rainstorm accompanied by strong winds.

Places (and their environs) likely to be affected are Ada, Accra, Tema, Saltpond, Takoradi, Cape Coast.

“A separate storm observed over the middle sector is expected to develop and affect places in the Volta, Eastern, Ahafo and Ashanti Regions.”

Wakaso joins Chinese club Jiangsu Suning

Ghanaian midfielder Mubarak Wakaso is on the verge of swapping the Spanish La Liga for the Chinese Super League (CSL) after agreeing personal terms with Jiangsu Suning. Wakaso, 29, was entering into the final year of his three-year deal with Deportivo Alaves, but he will now depart midway through the season after the two clubs reached an agreement. The deal is subject to the 29-year-old passing a medical. Deportivo Alavés in a statement expressed gratitude to Wakaso "for his professionalism and dedication during this time and wished him the best of luck". He will join compatriots Emmanuel Boateng and Frank Achiampong in the Chinese topflight.

THE ban on celebrities endorsing alcoholic beverages by Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has clearly affected a lot of celebrities and one aggrieved personality is comic actor Kwame Dzokoto who says it is the reason why he is no longer in the media. According to Kwame Dzokoto, who has advertised alcoholic beverages in the past and was the host of popular show, Edziban on TV3, the decision is biting hard but there is no one to speak for them. “I decided to leave the media since no one is speaking for us. Although I made a lot of money from advertising alcoholic beverages, I just decided to stop this media thing and try my hands at a different thing. Ghana, United Kingdom pledge to strengthen ties of co-operation

Ghana and the United Kingdom have resolved to deepen the bilateral relations that exist between the two countries, as well as, explore areas of interest that will inure to the mutual benefit of the two countries and their respective populations. This was disclosed on Monday, January 20, 2020, when the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, held bilateral talks with British Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Boris Johnson, MP, on the sidelines of the ongoing UK-Africa Investment Summit.
